Unfortunately, we were not able to go ahead with Detectorcon 2020, due to the COVID-19 situation. For those of you that purchased tickets for 2020 - these will automatically transfer and be valid for Detectorcon 2021 instead.
If you wish to obtain a refund, this can be done via the Eventbrite website.
Detectorcon and COVID 19
North of the Tyne Detecting considers the safety of all its members and rally attendees to be a top priority. We will therefore be keeping a close eye on the latest COVID developments and Government legislation, and ensuring that we comply with all neccesary measures. We are hopeful that Detectorcon 2021 will go ahead, but we are living in unpredictable times! In the event of cancellation, refunds will be available and we will save the land until next year.

Location and land...

The rally land is close to Bellingham, in Northumberland - an area rich in history that has produced some great finds, including Bronze age, medieval and Roman. Located less than 10 miles from Hadrians Wall - this is truly a great area to be detecting!
The land itself boasts some fantastic features, including a Bastle, a Roman camp and farmstead, the remains of an old castle, medieval crop marks and stone ruins, and an Iron age settlement!
So far 4 hoards have been found within 1 mile of the rally site (Bronze age and Roman coins and jewellery).

There will be over 900 acres of land to detect - including a mixture of pasture, ploughed and woodland. This is previously undetected land.
Our Useful Information page includes some further details about the location, including a map. More specific location information will be provided to ticket-holders in the week before the event.
We will be burying a hoard of 100 pound coins somewhere on the land for a lucky detectorist to find!
