Detectorcon and COVID 19
North of the Tyne Detecting considers the safety of all its members and rally attendees to be a top priority. We will therefore be keeping a close eye on the latest COVID developments and Government legislation, and ensuring that we comply with all neccesary measures.

Location and land...

The rally land is close to Bellingham/Tarset, in Northumberland - an area rich in history that has produced some great finds, including Bronze age, Iron age, Medieval and Roman. Located less than 10 miles from Hadrians Wall - this is truly a great area to be detecting!
The land itself boasts some fantastic features, including  the remains of an old castle dating from the 1200s, medieval crop marks and stone ruins, a roman river crossing and settlement.

So far 8 hoards have been found within 1 mile of the rally site (Bronze age and Roman coins and jewellery).

Our Useful Information page includes some further details about the location, including a map. More specific location information will be provided to ticket-holders in the week before the event.
We will be burying a hoard of 100 pound coins somewhere on the land for a lucky detectorist to find!
